Nella parte alta passiamo sull'opposta sponda di quest'ultimo piegando ancora un poco a destra e salendo quindi sino ai 2851 metri del col Clapis. Piegando a destra percorriamo il filo di cresta più o meno fedelmente, salvo abbandonarlo per un tratto abbassandoci sul versante della valle Argentera. Poco dopo riguadagnamo comunque il filo di cresta a breve distanza dai 2979 metri del Monte Appenna. La cresta continua in direzione est. Noi ci manteniamo prevalentemente sulla destra del pendio. Quando la cima è ormai vicina ci abbassiamo in un canale detritico che poi risaliamo sino alle facili rocce rotte che culminano con la cima del Monte Barifreddo (mt.3028).<u><br> <br> </u></span><span
