Giunti ad un bivio tralasciamo il fondo del vallone seguendo invece le indicazioni per il bivacco Berardo (segnavia U11) che si diparte sulla nostra destra e che risale una bella pineta. Al termine della vegetazione, su di una spalla rocciosa, sorge appunto il bivacco Berardo (mt. 2710 - h 5,30). Dal bivacco tagliamo il pendio orientale delle Rocce di Viso mantenendoci il più possibile alti sul vallone. Giunti all'imbocco di un largo canalone detritico lo risaliamo sfruttando al meglio le chiazze di neve ancora presenti. Giunti al suo culmine attacchiamo la sommità di Punta Caprera piegando un poco a sinistra onde abbordare una piccola rampa che, con andamento sinistra-destra, ci consente di accedere ad uno stretto e ripido intaglio lungo il quale ci inerpichiamo. Giunti al suo culmine la pendenza si abbatte e tocchiamo tosto i 3380 metri di Punta Caprera. Dall'intaglio, per facili roccette, raggiungiamo in pochi minuti anche il vicino Picco Bastia (mt. 3387). Seguendo il percorso dell'andata torniamo al bivacco Berardo, ove pernottiamo. Il giorno seguente ci dirigiamo per un tratto verso sud senza comunque seguire un percorso obbligato. Giunti in prossimità della cresta orientale della Guglia delle Forciolline ne seguiamo il filo.
