Giunti all'imbocco del Vallone della Rognosa lo risaliamo per un buon tratto tra massi e detriti attraverso i quali si snodano tracce di sentiero. Superata di poco la verticale che scende dalla vetta del Bric di Mezzodì (che ci lasciamo sulla sinistra) ci portiamo alla base di un evidente canalone all'inizio detritico, più stretto e roccioso nella parte alta. Giunti al suo culmine guadagnamo anche il filo di cresta. Guadagnato (corda-doppia) un marcato intaglio tra la nostra montagna ed i Rochers Cornus ci abbassiamo nuovamente nel Vallone della Rognosa che tosto discendiamo per poi ricongiungerci, di lì a poco,
