Volgiamo a destra e seguiamo fedelmente un buon sentiero, anche perchè la spessa nebbia presente ci sconsoglia variazioni di percorso. Raggiunto il colle dell'Arcano (mt. 2781) percorriamo la cresta che ci ritroviamo di fronte fino a che sbuchiamo sui 2986 metri del Bric di Mezzogiorno. Sempre per cresta divalliamo fino ai 2831 metri del colle Ghinivert da cui seguiamo una traccia tra le rocce sino al Bric Ghinivert (mt. 3037). Mantenendoci un poco a destra della dorsale ci tocca nuovamente perdere un pò di dislivello ma raggiungere il vicino Monte Peolioso (mt. 2886) è quanto mai semplice. E' tempo di voltare i tacchi e di riavvicinarsi alla macchina e, per farlo, tagliamo alla base le due cime precedentemente raggiunte mantenendoci sul versante della Val Troncea. Senza mai seguire un percorso obbligato guadagniamo ancora una volta il colle dell'Arcano donde per facile cresta sino alla sommità del Monte Ruetas (mt. 2935).
