Dopo aver attraversato il ruscello dell'Ile tocchiamo infine il rifugio DE L'ARPONT (mt. 2309 - h 3 30'). Il giorno successivo imbocchiamo la traccia che dalla costruzione punta verso ovest al ghiacciaio dell'Arpont, salvo abbandonarla di lì a poco per volgere decisamente a nord risalendo un pendio detritico. Raggiunto il pianoro soprastante volgiamo a sinistra superando direttamente una bastionata rocciosa oltre la quale la pendenza si attenua. Approdati ad una cresta prendiamo a destra dove, superato un risalto, perdiamo dislivello portandoci sulla lingua orientale del ghiacciaio del Dome du Chasseforet. Risaliamo quest'ultima mantenendoci tra due zone piuttosto crepacciate. Anzichè superare in discesa la bastionata rocciosa compiamo una variante percorrendo la lingua orientale del ghiacciaio sino a quando ci è possibile abbandonarla piegando verso destra dove, con
