Sfruttando quest'ultima ci risparmiamo la risalita di un faticoso canalone detritico. Sulla destra del rifugio/ristorante ha inizio la via ferrata. Dopo un tratto iniziale di cresta di moderata pendenza perdiamo un pò di dislivello riprendendo poi a salire con l'ausilio di un paio di scalette metalliche. Eccezion fatta per un breve risalto roccioso la pendenza si attenua ed i cavi metallici hanno termine a poca distanza dai 3154 metri della cima di mezzo del Monte Cristallo. Ritornati al rifugio imbocchiamo la via ferrata Angelo Dibona. Dopo i primi cavi d'acciaio superiamo dapprima una breve galleria oltre la quale ci attende il suggestivo superamento del ponte sospeso pi lungo delle Dolomiti. Di lì a poco abbandoniamo la via ferrata e, piegando a sinistra, percorriamo il facile tratto di cresta che ci separa dal breve canalino adducente ai 3026 metri della cima del Cristallino
