Per un tratto proseguiamo lungo la rotabile salvo abbandonarla non appena giunti in prossimità della cresta sud-ovest del Monte Faraut. Perso qualche metro per attraversare il ruscello che occupa il fondo del vallone iniziamo la risalita della dorsale portandoci rapidamente sulla destra del crinale. Qui perdiamo nuovamente un pò di dislivello aggirando una spalla rocciosa dopodichè andiamo a riafferrare il filo dello spartiacque che seguiamo per un buon tratto finchè, giunti al cospetto di un tratto piuttosto frastagliato della cresta, ci abbassiamo per una ventina di metri sulla nostra sinistra. Appena possibile riguadagnamo nuovamente la dorsale che seguiamo senza più problemi fino sui 3046 metri del Monte Faraut. Mantenendoci prevalentemente sul filo percorriamo la cresta sud-ovest guadagnando rapidamente la successiva depressione riprendendo poi a risalire il semplice pendio che culmina con il Buc Faraut (mt. 2914). A questo punto volgiamo a sud-ovest toccando la Colletta (mt. 2830) nei cui pressi sorge il rifugio Carmagnola. Dalla depressione affrontiamo direttamente l'opposto pendio sino a quando un salto roccioso ci costringe ad una digressione sulla sinistra della dorsale. Appena possibile (vale a dire dopo poche decine di metri) guadagnamo nuovamente lo spartiacque che stavolta percorriamo fedelmente sino sulla sommittà del Monte Belllino (mt. 2942).<u><br> <br>
