L'ultima serie di tornanti permette di raggiungere il rifugio Garibaldi (mt. 2548 - 3 ore) sito sulle sponde del lago artificiale del Venerocolo. Dal rifugio ripercorriamo l'itinerario di andata per alcuni metri salvo volgere poi a destra in corrispondenza di un cartello ove seguiamo l'evidente sentiero contraddistinto dal segnavia "42" svoltando in direzione del passo del Venerocolo (mt. 3130) cui in ultimo accediamo mediante un pendio innevato. Dal valico volgiamo a sinistra e risaliamo il pendio di grossi massi sino a che la cresta si restringe; a questo punto ci spostiamo un poco sulla sinistra per risalire un paio di canali separati da un breve intaglio. Oltre il secondo canale non restano da risalire che le ultime roccette culminanti con i 3290 metri del Monte dei Frati. Riguadagnato il passo risaliamo la dorsale opposta la quale è per buona parte ricoperta di neve; dopo essere transitati nei pressi di una vecchia postazione militare tocchiamo in tutta facilità la cima del Monte Venerocolo (mt. 3233 - 3 h 15' dal rifugio).<u><br> <br> </u></span><span style="font-weight: 700">Note di Salita: </span> <span style="font-weight: 400"><br> <br> </span><b><font
