Da Ciargiur superiamo i pascoli puntando direttamente alla costiera che discende dai Picchi del Pagliaio. Incrociamo qui un sentiero che, risalendo la costiera, scavalca un paio di dossi. Quando essa piega a sinistra della dorsale la abbandoniamo attraversando in diagonale il pendio sulla destra fino a guadagnare un'insellatura. Da essa affrontiamo un breve canalino piegando poi a destra dove abbordiamo il filo della cresta percorrendolo fino in cima al Picco Orientale (mt. 1990). Da esso ci abbassiamo ad una seconda stretta forcella attaccando poi il secondo rilievo superando un canalino, una fessura ed una bella placca che sbuca sui 2020 metri del Picco Centrale. Dopo un primo tratto di facile cresta discendiamo per un breve risalto (eventualmente superabile anche in corda doppia) ritrovandoci poi alle prese con uno spigolo che, più in alto, diminuisce un pò di inclinazione per culminare poco dopo con i 2040 metri del Picco Occidentale. Ultimata la traversata della costiera imbocchiamo un canalino munito di funi metalliche lungo le quali ci caliamo fino a raggiungere il sentiero che taglia alla base i Picchi del Pagliaio. Volgendo a destra lo seguiamo per un tratto fino a quando lo abbandoniamo a beneficio del soprastante pendio innevato che senza intoppi ci conduce sulla cresta, a breve distanza dalla cima.
