Tralasciata la diramazione di sinistra (che porta al Santuario) ci inoltriamo lungo lo sterrato che, dopo una breve salita, percorre per un tratto la sinistra orografica del Vallone di Sea salvo diventare poi un sentiero. Nei pressi del Gias Balma Masset (mt. 1500) attraversiamo la Stura su di una passerella e procediamo poi lungo l'opposta sponda fino all'Alpe di Sea (mt. 1785) dove una seconda passerella ci riconduce sulla sinistra orografica del vallone. Dopo una breve salitella tocchiamo il vasto pianoro ove sorge il Gias Nuovo (mt. 1888). Continuando sul fondo del vallone ci portiamo in prossimità di una strozzatura che si supera per strette risvolte. Più in alto la pendenza si abbatte e conduce al bivacco Soardi (mt. 2297). A questo punto la traccia costringe a perdere diversi metri di dislivello, riprendendo poi a salire mantenendosi sempre sulla sinistra orografica del vallone principale. Dopo un paio di rampe tocchiamo ciò che resta del ghiacciaio di Sea e, tenendoci sulla nostra destra, andiamo ad afferrare la dorsale morenica che si trova sulla nostra destra e ne percorriamo il filo sino a che essa non va ad esaurirsi contro una piccola bastionata rocciosa che aggiriamo alla base procedendo su pietraie e terreno detritico toccando successivamente il colle di Sea (mt. 3100). Spostandoci sul versante francese ritroviamo una traccia di sentiero che si snoda lungo il crestone sino alle ultime roccette che affrontiamo sulla destra pervenendo cos ai 3324 metri della Punta Tonini.<u><br> <br> </u></span><span style="font-weight: 700">Note di Salita: </span> <span style="font-weight: 400"><br> <br> </span><b><font color="#927E6D">DISCESA:</font></b></font></font><span style="font-weight: 400"><font face="Verdana" size="2"> Lungo l'itinerario di salita.
