Sino al rifugio Des Merveilles (mt. 2111) la salita non ha praticamente storia. Subito dopo la costruzione (palina segnaletica) imbocchiamo il sentiero che sale verso i passi "du Diable" e "di Trem"; ben presto ci lasciamo sulla destra il Lac Fourca proseguendo tra grossi massi erratici. Giunti ad un bivio (ormai in vista di una diga) ci abbassiamo leggermente per transitare tra un piccolo laghetto ed il ben più evidente Lac de la Mouta, che ci lasciamo sulla sinistra per poi guadagnare la piccola conca che ospita il Lac di Diable (mt. 2400 circa). Tralasciata la diramazione di sinistra, che conduce al Pas du Diable, volgiamo invece a destra; superata una lingua di ottima neve guadagnamo il Pas du Trem. A questo punto il sentiero piega a sinistra e, seppur parzialmente coperto da qualche chiazza di neve, si mantiene di elementare percorrenza sino ai 2685 metri della Cime du Diable. Riguadagnato il Pas du Trem risaliamo l'opposto versante dapprima per neve e poi, lasciatoci sulla destra un sentiero, per erba e roccette sino a guadagnare la dorsale. Qui ci abbassiamo lungo i pendii boscosi sulla nostra sinistra fino a quando, decisamente più in basso ad una quota approssimativa di 2500 metri, incrociamo un comodo sentiero che ci consente di
