Dal rifugio seguiamo il sentiero che volge ad est e che risale la destra idrografica del vallone. Guadato il Ruisseau des Loses (non ci sono nè ponti nè passerelle) abbordiamo la morena la cui dorsale è percorsa da una traccia; giunti in corrispondenza di un breve saltino roccioso tralasciamo la traccia che piega a destra e continuando a mantenerci sul filo approdiamo ai pianori occupati dalle ultime rocce montonate che precedono il ghiacciaio Sources de l'Isere. Numerosi ometti in pietra aiutano nell'orientamento. Giunti sul ghiacciaio ci lasciamo sulla destra una zona crepacciata per puntare direttamente al colletto (3127 mt.) che separa le nostre due cime. Volgendo a sinistra risaliamo il pendio detritico immettendoci in un breve ma stretto camino che sbuca a pochi metri di distanza dalla Cima della Vacca (mt. 3183). Riguadagnata la depressione risaliamo l'opposto versante; una traccia percorre il pendio di rocce rotte sino a che la cresta si restringe un pochino in prossimità di alcune asperità rocciose. Esse non sono di difficile percorrenza tuttavia dopo un breve tratto è possibile abbassarsi sulla destra per alcuni metri; qui ricompare la traccia che conduce senza più intoppi alla Cima d'Oin (mt.
