Seguendo lo sterrato risaliamo il vallone sino alle Grange Valfredda ove ha termine la strada ed inizia il sentiero per il passo di Galambra. Dopo averlo seguito per un tratto ci portiamo alla base della Punta Valfredda dopodichè volgiamo a sinistra innalzandoci lungo il pendio sino a quando, sfruttando le ultime lingue di neve, raggiungiamo il filo di cresta nei pressi di una depressione. Volgendo a destra percorriamo il filo della dorsale di rocce e neve sino ai 3041 metri della Punta d'Almiane. Riguadagnata la depressione procediamo in direzione opposta. A parte un breve tratto in cui ci spostiamo brevemente sul versante del Vallone di Rochemolles, continuiamo lungo il filo di cresta toccando la sommità della Punta Valfredda (mt. 3051).
