Piegando a sinistra imbocchiamo un evidente sentiero che, dopo gli ultimi tornanti, tocca il colle dove sorge il rifugio e dal quale volgiamo a destra percorrendo un facile tratto di cresta al termine del quale ha inizio la via ferrata vera e propria. Dopo un facile tratto comunque attrezzato con cavi d'acciaio entriamo in una breve galleria al termine della quale ci caliamo su placche lisce ma comunque sempre attrezzate. Toccata una depressione e percorso un tratto di pendio detritico solcato da una traccia di sentiero, ci immettiamo in un largo canale che sbuca in prossimità dei 2765 metri della Cima di Costabella. Guadagnata un'altra depressione ritroviamo i cavi d'acciaio seguendo i quali raggiungiamo un vecchio posto di vedetta cui fanno seguito alcune rampe di scalette in legno. Alla depressione successiva ha termine la via ferrata. Una traccia ci conduce in un ampio canale detritico che culmina in una forcella. A questo punto superiamo un tratto di placche lisce ma appoggiate oltre le quali la pendenza si abbatte sino a formare i 2805 metri della Cima del Colbel.<u><br> <br> </u></span><span style="font-weight: 700">Note di Salita: </span> <span style="font-weight: 400">La Cima delle Vallate fa parte di tutta una serie di cime minori che si trovano lungo la via e che si possono toccare discostandosi dal percorso principale e piegando un poco a sinistra.<br> <br> </span><b><font color="#927E6D">DISCESA:</font></b></font></font><span style="font-weight: 400"><font face="Verdana" size="2"> Dalla Cima del Colbel seguiamo in un primo tempo labili tracce di sentiero dopodichè ci abbassiamo lungo una scoscesa dorsale che ha termine sui docili pendii sottostanti.
